The procedure to repair a damaged rotator cuff tendon in the shoulder is known as rotator cuff repair. The rotator cuff is a band of muscles and tendons that surrounds the shoulder joint and forms a cuff. These muscles and tendons assist the shoulder joint move by holding the arm in place. Tendons can be ripped as a result of overuse or injury.

Such was the case with a patient who suffered a rotator cuff injury. It began with excruciating agony in her right shoulder, which prevented her from lifting her affected arm. She went to Dr Reetadyuti Mukhopadhyay for treatment because she was suffering from shoulder pain. After a thorough examination, the doctor advised her to undergo an MRI and X-Ray of her shoulder for a better view. After reviewing her reports, he concluded that she had a rotator cuff tear that required surgery to correct. She was discharged the day after surgery and was called for a checkup three days later. Dr Reetadyuti Mukhopadhyay also advised her to exercise daily to improve her shoulder movement. With regular exercise, she was fully recovered in 6 weeks.
